My name is Jess! I am one of the lucky ones, living along the beautiful South Coast of Australia, painting my days away and enjoying life with my husband.
Creating has always been a part of my life. Countless Saturday mornings all throughout my childhood were spent in bed, pencil and paper in hand.
Birthdays, Christmas and special occasions became opportunities to express my love to friends and family through unique and personal works of art created just for them. Years later these paintings are still cherished and loved in their homes.
Art classes at school were easily my favourite time of day; being encouraged to enter an art exhibition in 2011 where I was approached by a potential buyer.
This created more of a realisation that I may be able to turn my talent into more than just a hobby. Being constantly encouraged to do so, but not knowing where to even start.
Soon my beloved creative art classes turned into High school theory lessons and after leaving me feeling incompetent and frustrated, I left to pursue a more fulfilling time in my life of travel and adventure.
Since 2015 I have been pursuing my art goals with more focus. Now having multiple places I am lucky enough to display my artwork on a semi permanent basis, including Cockles Cafe in Port Elliot, Blues Restaurant in Middleton and What’s Poppin’ in the Goolwa Main St. While receiving occasional commissioned work, my dreams are starting to become reality.
Having no professional training, I am constantly learning and experimenting, discovering more about myself and my artistic ability as I go.
